Entry classes - Grade 9

The course fee is $60.  There is no minimum age to enroll. The class is 8 hours long. Class placements is not guaranteed to persons who have not registered to the course. You must register online to receive a Badge.

If you see a lock symbol like this Clinic Closed - Click here for details next to the class title and you cannot select the class, that means that the class is closed.

Registration Process

1. To register for a class hold the SHIFT KEY and click https://www.ussoccer.info/ to open a new window and keep on reading these instructions
2.
the first time that you access this website, you are a NEW USER and you need to create your Personal Details. You will see a message that says"
     "If you have NEVER been a referee and you want to sign up for a NEW registration -
 
      New User? click here for NEW USER sign up"

So, click "NEW USER sign up" and you will see a screen that will allow you to create a userid, password, and your Personal Details
    the SIGNUP process is only needed once!!
    NOTE:
do not create a userid if you already have a USSF ID and Personal Details
               referees with a USSF ID should not register for an Entry Level class - unless they have not
               recertified for several years - but they should use their previous USSF ID

3. after you complete entering your Personal Details, login again to https://www.ussoccer.info/ using your newly created USERID and PASSWORD to access the system.
4. Click Referee on left menu;
    you will see a Welcome to Michigan Referee Section
5.
then click the link Click here to apply for your 2010 Registration
4. scroll down and click Referee box
5. in the
Referee Grade Details section change the Grade 8 to a 9
6. look for the
Referee Clinic Schedule Details
    This is a list of available classes; reserve the class you want by clicking the circle at the left of the clinic name
          If you do not see such a list, cancel out of the registration and start again. If this problem continues, contact
          MichiganRegistrar@gmail.com
   
      Note: a lock symbol next to a class indicates that the class is full; look for a different class. Plase do not send
          emails to the class contact asking to be "squeezed-in" or to be placed in a waiting list, as they cannot keep one.

7. read the Terms and Conditions and, if you agree, click
I agree to the terms and conditions box
8. follow the instructions to make payment by credit card; click Continue to complete the Payment
9. You will receive a "Referee Registration Payment Acknowledgement" email right after your registration: SAVE your Payment Acknowledgement email in your folder as it may be necessary if you need to switch classes later on. Also, please print a copy of the Payment Acknowledgement (PA) and bring it to the class that you registered for. If your PA shows your class information, you are all set, otherwise contact MichiganRegistrar@gmail.com 

NOTE: The statement in the Payment Acknowledgement that says "..you will receive ... a Referee Packet via 1st class mail from U.S. Soccer." does not apply to Michigan referees. In fact, you will not receive any "Referee Packet" until a month after you have completed and passed the class.

If you do not receive a Payment Acknowledgement email within a few minutes, contact MichiganRegistrar@gmail.com

Risk Management
Students 18 or older before January 1 of the registration year will be required to complete the risk management process found at in this website Consider that it may take up to 10 days days to complete the process and for you to receive an eMail containing the Approval certificate; please print the eMail and bring it to the first day of class.  Students cannot be registered as referees without completing the risk management process. 

 Information and Expectations:

      1.                 The Michigan Referee Committee reserves the right to cancel sessions with fewer than 10
                  participants.

2.                 Please DO NOT register for a class if you are unable to attend all sessions in their entirety.  Soccer games, practices, tournaments, or other events are not valid reasons for missing class. NO EXCEPTIONS.

3.                 Students are expected to take notes and participate actively in class.  Students must pass an exam with a score of 75% or higher at the conclusion of the clinic in order to receive USSF certification.  No refunds will be given to failing students.

4.                 Electronic devices such as Game Boys, I-Pods, or MP3 players are not permitted in class. 

5.                 Pagers and cell phones in silence mode are permitted, however they can only be used on breaks or at the conclusion of class. 

6.                 Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and can be cause for removal from class.  Determination of such behavior is at the discretion of the Instructor and can include such behaviors as texting, sleeping, etc. 

Items Required at Clinic: 

1.                Registration Payment Acknowledgement email

          2.        Risk Management certificate/card if 18 or older

3.                Materials to take notes.

4.                Comfortable, casual clothing.

5.                Snacks/lunch for breaks unless otherwise prohibited
